IC+ DC

IC- complete sentence - Independent clause - مرادف لجملة مفيده

DC-  Incomplete Dependent Clouse - عبارة غير مكتملة

Order of Cumulative Adjectives (page 107)

 Cumulative adjectives always go before a noun. They must be in a particular order. 

For example,

 you cannot write: 

The little black poor dog; (no)

you must write 

The poor little black dog. (yes)

Do not put commas between cumulative adjectives.

The Three Types of Sentences

S - Subject: فاعل

V- Verb: فعل

Definitions:

1- Simples sentence:

 ( SV ) - ( SVV ) : ( ID: independent clause: اسم اخر للجملة البسيطة) 

2- Compound sentence: 

(SV, but SV) (SV, or SV)

A compound sentence is two simple sentences connected by a comma and a coordinating conjunction 

3- Complex sentences:  (IC + DC) - pages (76 - 77- 79

 IC is short for Independent clause: جملة بسيطة أو عبارة مستقلة

DC is short for Dependent clause: عبارة غير مستقلة

Example :

1-  I went to college, because I had class. 

2- I went to college, after I finished my work. 

Time Subordinators:

( after- before - until - as soon as - since - whenever - while - when)
